Job Description
Description New Graduate RN needed for the Acute Rehabilitation unit at Hillsborough Hospital Campus. UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is a community hospital which is an extension of UNC Medical Center focusing on many of our elective surgical programs. The 163-bed facility combines a community hospital culture with the innovative procedures and care for which the UNC Medical Center is known. The Hillsborough Hospital has achieved accreditation by The Joint Commission's disease specific program for their Total Hip and Knee Replacement service. This accreditation is the result of many years of work by the inter-professional team caring for these patients. The Hillsborough Hospital was also designated Dementia Friendly in 2019. The Dementia Friendly Hospital Initiative (DFHI) aims to achieve high-quality, individualized, patient-centered care for patients with dementia. The Hillsborough Campus has also received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience and ranks in the top five percent in the nation for patient experience. The Hillsborough Campus is located at 430 Waterstone Drive, Hillsborough, NC just off of I-40 with easy access to free on-campus parking. The Rehab nurse provides competent and compassionate care to patients with life-changing illnesses and injuries. From spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and strokes to trauma and cancer patients, the Rehab nurse provides care to a wide range of diagnoses. With an average RN-patient ratio of 1 to 5, nurses in the 40 bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit help their patients go through the recovery process and regain their independence, with the ultimate goal of returning home when possible. This opportunity is for a new grad nurse who is currently in their final semester of nursing school or who have graduated from nursing school within the past 12 months of the anticipated start date and have worked as an RN for less than 6 months. It is expected that applicants will have a nursing (RN) license that allows them to practice in the state of North Carolina prior to the first day of employment. Attaching a resume showing your clinical rotations with the hours of those clinical rotations, as well as a cover letter indicating your primary area of clinical interest is strongly encouraged. Hours: 36 hour/week- (night shift position). *This position qualifies for our UNC Hospitals New Grad RN Incentive Program, which includes up to $15,000 commitment incentive or up to $25,000 tuition loan forgiveness. In addition, this position is also eligible for up to $10,000 in relocation assistance (based on location).
