Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Financial Assistance:

The Office of Student Financial Assistance, a unit within Student Success and Well-Being, is dedicated to supporting UCF's mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.

The Opportunity:

The UCF Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Financial Assistance is currently accepting applications for a Financial Aid Specialist. This role participates in activities related to academic admissions, registration, financial aid. services, and orientation for current and potential university students. Admissions Professionals recruit, evaluate, and participate in the selection of candidates for admission and coordinate with all organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process. This position also advises applicants and parents about educational planning.

UCF is seeking to fill multiple roles. Candidates for this job posting will be considered for additional vacancies in this department.

Responsibilities:



  • Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process in person or over the phone/Zoom.

  • Analyzes and evaluates student financial needs.

  • Advises on availability of financial assistance.

  • Participates in outreach activities and presentations to students, parents, high school counselors, and the community in workshops and training sessions.

  • Attends professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions for professional development and to keep abreast of current rules and regulations.

  • Reviews and evaluates eligibility for loans.

  • Responsible for verification of student files selected for review by the Department of Education.

  • Evaluates documentation provided by student required to complete additional review of their FAFSA Application

  • Counsels students (and parents) on the best way to provide required forms and documents to complete the processing of their FAFSA form.




Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in Customer Service.

  • Employment experience in higher education.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams).

  • Knowledge of Zoom.
