Your Mission: Leadership, Growth, and Innovation

As the Southeast Water Program Director, you will:

    Ignite Growth: Build and expand Woolpert's water resources, stormwater, and coastal engineering services while driving business opportunities in groundwater, water supply, and water master planning.
  • Inspire Teams: Lead and mentor passionate professionals, cultivating a high-performing team ready to tackle complex challenges.
  • Innovate Boldly: Leverage cutting-edge technologies to deliver real-time flood predictions, adaptive wet weather controls, harmful algal bloom forecasting, and more.
  • Drive Results: Lead business development efforts with Federal, state, and local agencies in the Southeast, including strategic partnerships with USACE Districts (Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, and Norfolk) and USACE Research and Development Center (ERDC).
  • Elevate Impact: Represent Woolpert as a thought leader at industry events, conferences, and client-centric engagements, while developing visionary solutions tailored to client needs.

  • A Passion for Excellence: A BA/BS in Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering/Science (MA/MS preferred) and 10-12+ years of related experience.

  • Innovative Leadership: A PE license (preferred), advanced technical expertise, and a proactive approach to leveraging new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the growth of Water Market services focusing on the Southeast US through the establishment and enhancement of client relationships.
  • Drive the growth of Woolpert's water resource, stormwater, and coastal engineering services and support other Woolpert leaders grow our water supply, groundwater, and water master planning services.
  • Lead business development opportunities and ensure water services are delivered in a manner that meet and exceed our client's expectations.
  • Support the growth and delivery of water services to Federal clients in the SE like the Jacksonville, Savannah, Wilmington, Charleston, and Norfolk USACE Districts
  • Leverage technologies like remote sensing, AI, machine learning, and digital twins for real-time flood predictions, adaptive wet weather control, and harmful algal bloom forecasts. Help clients mitigate risks and reduce implementation costs.
  • Represent Woolpert at industry events, conferences, organizations, and strategic client centric events.
  • Define and communicate the project scope to ensure understanding of client needs and expectations. Identify key deliverables, set measurable objectives, establish timelines, and detail all requirements for successful completion. Maintain open communication with the client to manage expectations and address changes or concerns promptly. Mentor Project Managers and technical staff
  • Support team building and the recruitment of water professionals.
  • Assist Project Managers in client negotiations and in the development of project scope, schedule, fee, and contract terms.
  • Work with Project Managers to identify, address and resolve any project issues impacting client goals, objectives and/or client satisfaction.


Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Civil, Environmental Engineering/Science and 12 years related experience. MA/MS preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • Candidate must have business development sales acumen and project management skills.
  • Experience in building client relationships with local and state agencies in the Southeast.
  • Experience with leading collaborative teams
  • Must be able to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of information and data.
  • Must demonstrate an enterprising, innovative, proactive management approach.
  • Must possess high levels of demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Must possess excellent presentation and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Must have Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Must be able to travel (25-50%) as required to meet the needs and demands of the Market.
