Assistant/Associate/Professor Pediatric Critical Care Assistant/Associate/Professor Pediatric Critical Care Hiring Department: UICOMP-Pediatrics Location: Peoria, IL USA Requisition ID: 1029177 Posting Close Date: 4/9/2025 Salary: $240,000 to $270,000 per year The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP), Department of Pediatrics is seeking 1 candidate for Pediatric Critical Care physician position. with additional cardiac training or extensive clinical experience with post-operative cardiac care or dual training in cardiology and critical care for a position as Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division. The ideal candidate will have completed 3 years of pediatric residency and be BC/BE in Pediatric Critical Care upon employment and will hold or have applied for an Illinois physician's license. The position includes patient care services, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The faculty will provide clinical services for critically ill patients hospitalized in the unit including children with complex congenital heart disease. The ideal candidate will also provide consultation services for physicians and patients in the region with problems requiring critical care and supervising ground transport. There is a limited expectation to participate in the procedural sedation program. The faculties are encouraged (and will be supported) to pursue research endeavors and other professional development activities. The Pediatric Critical Care Division encompasses 11 full time Pediatric Intensivists, 8 Advanced Practice Providers, Critical care fellowship, and APP-Critical care Fellowship. Medical Students, Pediatric Residents, and Emergency Medicine Residents rotate through the service. Clinical activities of the faculty are primarily concentrated at OSF Healthcare Children's Hospital of Illinois, which is the primary pediatric teaching facility for UICOMP and is a 142-bed facility that offers over 50 pediatric programs and services. These programs represent over 100 pediatric sub-specialists in 24 different disciplines, including a pediatric surgery program, and a congenital heart surgery program. Children's Hospital of Illinois is the only full-service tertiary hospital for children in downstate Illinois with a children and adult congenital heart disease program, Illinois Perinatal Center, a Quaternary Care Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is designated as a Level I trauma center. There is an active ECMO program, Renal Transplant and dialysis program, Home Ventilator program, and active air and ground transport services. Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics, University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria and Children's Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is seeking Pediatric Critical Care physicians with additional cardiac training, extensive clinical experience with post-operative cardiac care, or dual training in cardiology and critical care for a position on the non-tenure clinical track as Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pediatrics or of Clinical Pediatrics. The critical care division currently consists 11 intensivists who staff a 32 bed mixed cardiac and med-surgical unit with an ACGME accredited fellowship training program. Duties & Responsibilities
