The Utility Operator will monitor a building's utility systems and perform maintenance.

Duties:



  • Monitors utility systems such as water supply, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and HVAC.
  • Uses control panels and computer programs to monitor security surveillance and fire alarm detection systems.
  • Make floor rounds to detect and monitor malfunctions in utility systems to include elevators, lighting, kitchen equipment.
  • When a malfunction is detected, inspects affected systems and areas.
  • Diagnoses and corrects utility problems, when possible, contacts outside contractors to repair utility problems when necessary.
  • Conducts routine maintenance checks and performs preventive/corrective maintenance on utility equipment.
  • Notifies supervisor of utility or equipment needing additional attention or repairs.
  • Fill out incident report forms, logs and reports emergency situations in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:



  • Able to work shift work, and available for after hours and on weekend work.
  • A valid driver's license required.
  • License/certification completion of technical/vocational school program in the trades of; plumbing, electrical, electronic or HVAC systems, or equivalent required.
  • Five years working in trades of either plumbing, electrical, electronic and HVAC experienced in general industry or Healthcare preferred.
