Reporting to the Lead Case Manager, the Intake Capacity Coordinator will lead the coordination of the placement and intakes process for unaccompanied children entering temporary foster care programming via the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The Intake Capacity Coordinator will act as the primary point of contact for accepting UC referrals, transfer, and placement from ORR. This individual be responsible for ensuring the intake process is streamlined and efficient, while working closely with team members to ensure intake and discharge timelines are met in accordance with ORR requirements. Additionally, this individual will assist the case management and medical team by aiding in the documentation and communication process for clients. Finally, the Intake Capacity Coordinator will support in reunification efforts, including travel as needed.

DUTIES



  • Serve as the main point of contact with the ORR Intakes team and disseminate information to the rest of the Global Refuge team while effectively tracking intakes and discharges for the program.
  • Complete appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting such as the daily census, discharge, intake, and capacity reporting.
  • Coordinate and facilitate discharges, including escorting youth to family unifications by car and air. Typically requiring same day travel but may, on occasion, involve overnight stays.
  • Conduct case support tasks, such as background checks, address checks, filing, information input, case noting, and coordinate information sharing.
  • Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Provide timely, professional and responsive communication with the team and other stakeholders.
  • Provide assistance by being flexible and completing assignments that best support the team.
  • Provide intake coverage, which includes overnight and weekend hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field of study from an accredited college, required;
  • Fluency in Spanish, required;
  • Prior work experience in cross-cultural settings;
  • Experience in child welfare/case management strongly preferred;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Active motor vehicle license, clean driving record, and a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage;
  • Ability to pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Up to 25% travel required including escorting youth to family unifications by car and air. Typically requiring same day travel but may, on occasion, involve overnight stays;

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  • Must be willing and able to clear a criminal background check for the past seven (7) years;
  • Must be willing and able to request and clear Child Abuse and Neglect background check in all states lived within previous five (5) years, updated yearly;
  • Must be willing and able to obtain FBI fingerprint check every five (5) years;
  • Must undergo an enhanced background check following hire;
  • Must have valid driver's license and MVA check free of major infractions for the last seven (7) years;
  • Must clear a State of Maryland Department of Public Safety and Corrections Services screening;
  • Must complete a bi-annual physical exam and TB testing, in accordance with Maryland state licensing requirements;
  • Must maintain proof of childhood and annual vaccinations, including: MMR, varicella, Tdap, and influenza;
  • Must be CPR, First Aid, and AEC certified upon hire or within 60 days of hire.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Regularly required to talk and/or hear;
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
  • Occasionally required to move or lift items up to 25 pounds in weight;
  • Primarily office based, but occasionally required to travel to other offices and/or external parties;
  • Routinely exposed to typical office noise levels and/or exposure to various weather conditions;
  • Requires a high-level of concentration.
