Utz Quality Foods is seeking an Organizational Development Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Organizational Development, this position will play a pivotal role using data research and collaborating closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, using a holistic behavior-based approach to plan change and improvements for all levels; to gain buy-in and commitment to change; to ensure that the change effects an inclusive, healthy, and effective organization; and to ensure that the changes address organizational needs to enhance efficiency, culture, and adaptability. This role fosters leadership growth, driving performance management through skill gap analysis and capability needs, succession planning, individual development plans, and overall organizational design.

*This is a remote position with travel required as needed.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Organization Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience, and 5 plus years of overall Human Resources experience with 3 plus years of experience in an Organizational Development role. Professional Certifications including an Organization Development Certified Professional (ODCP), Certified Organization Development Practitioner (CODP), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and/or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) is preferred.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong business acumen with a deep understanding of organizational, people, and cultural dynamics, the needs of the goals of the organization and how different parts of organizations affect each other. Be competent in comprehensive talent, succession planning, and career pathing strategies, as well as have an adaptable consulting and proactive approach to scoping, diagnosing, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. Be proficient in design methodology expertise for workshops, focus groups, and engagement surveys and data-driven organizational assessments and interpretation of metrics. Exceptional communication skills, encompassing presentations, facilitation, written content, and proficient in influencing leadership and managing multiple priorities with a detail-oriented approach.

Organization Development Manager:



  • Collaborates with functional leaders and key stakeholders to identify skill and performance gaps, building capabilities within the organization.
  • Assesses and identifies learning needs based on identified gaps.
  • Collaborates with the Learning and Development Manager, the Organizational Effectiveness Manager, and People Leaders to develop training and development strategies and implementation that align with company objectives and meet both individual and team needs.
  • Works with functional leaders to keep succession plans, including 9-Box templates and Individual Development Plans, IDPs, current.
  • Participates in functional organizational design conversations, assisting with retitling positions and spans and layers analysis.
  • Identifies organizational challenges and needs through conducting surveys and other data collection methods.
  • Evaluates data, analyzing and synthesizing information gathered.
  • Assists employees in recognizing and defining problems.
  • Guides employees through the problem-solving process.
  • Engages stakeholders to assist with developing action plans to improve organization effectiveness, aligning the needs of our associates and Utz's mission, values, goals, and strategic objectives.
  • Develops communication plans.
  • Makes associates aware of the need for change and how it will affect their jobs to motivate them to change and guide them through the change process to the new state.
  • Ensures that the changes are sustainable. Regularly evaluates and refines implemented programs based on feedback.
  • Encourages participation by those affected by the change.
  • Fosters open communication.
  • Mediates conflicts and facilitates resolutions to maintain a harmonious working environment.
  • Assists business partners with implementing the change.
  • Collaborates with team to measure initiative success and reports actionable insights to leadership. Uses initial data collected as points of comparison during and after the change to track progress and effectiveness.
  • Stays informed about the latest trends in organizational development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the Company's objectives.


Requirements:



  • 5 plus years of overall Human Resources experience with 3 plus years of experience in an Organizational Development role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Organization Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Organization Development Certified Professional (ODCP), Certified Organization Development Practitioner (CODP) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Data-driven organizational assessments and interpretation of metrics.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing development programs, policies, and strategies.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for data analysis and presentation.
  • Project management for OD interventions and change management applications.
  • Creation of competency development frameworks and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Excellent collaboration skills. Ability to work with and gain support from all levels of employees.
  • Expertise in change management combined with critical thinking and innovative solutions.
  • Commitment to social responsibility.
