GENERAL SUMMARY: Dental Assistant Position @Henry Ford Health Working as a dental assistant (DA) in the departments of oral & maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) and hospital dentistry (HD) at Henry Ford Health (HFH) will not be your typical DA position. We deliver dental and oral surgery care to hospital based, medically complex patients. We provide care in the hospital setting, operation room and in outpatient clinics. No matter where we deliver care we are typically dealing with patients that are sicker and more complex than in your average community dental or oral surgery clinic. As a dental assistant working in our departments, you will work beyond assisting the provider at the chairside. You will aid in the delivery of patient care before, during and after the patients visit which will be described in more detail during the interview process. The OMFS and HD departments are part of HFH organization which means you will work in collaboration with many different departments and specialties. You will do your work in a comprehensive electronic medical record in which you will be provided with extensive training. In addition to working closely with the provider, you will work directly with nursing leadership to help maintain a safe and productive working environment. We all work together to provide high quality care and excellent patient experience.
