As a Forklift Operator you will ensure that all ingredients and packaging materials meet quality specifications and food safety regulations. You will be responsible for unloading inbound shipments, inspecting trailers and pallets, and maintaining accurate records. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will report any damaged materials and uphold the company's values in all tasks. Additionally, you will support the Shipping/Receiving department by performing cycle counts, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting with training new receivers.

Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for unloading inbound shipments, properly receiving materials into stock, completing all associated computer and paperwork associated with the load.
  • Inspect all trailers upon arrival and all pallets of ingredients/packaging/finished goods prior to accepting, receiving and/or shipping them.
  • Work directly with the Quality Department to verify all ingredients meet specifications.
  • Inspect all bulk ingredient loads
  • Inspection of storage facilities and materials in order to maintain food safety and quality.
  • Perform cycle counts of inventory as needed and requested
  • Observe and follow first in/first out (FIFO) of all materials, monitor for damages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Proper communication of issues to coworkers or the proper department(s) (i.e. Sanitation, Maintenance, or Quality Assurance) as needed through use of radio's or overhead PA system. All positions are part of a team and must communicate and work together to ensure a safe and efficient work flow.
  • Report all ingredients and or packaging that are visually out of company and quality standards to the material coordinator and department manager/supervisor.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work area.
  • Know, understand, and follow safe operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Actively participate with the team, through problem solving, planning, and team decision-making with individual accountability.
  • Perform training of new receivers and assist in other training activities which support the shipping/receiving department.
  • Ability to learn how to operate the Fanuc robots and slot production to the holding freezer as needed.
  • Flexibility in job assignments on a daily basis to include shipping outbound customer orders, receiving product from production, putting product into holding freezer storage locations and providing breaks and lunches, etc.
  • Knows, understands and follows standard forklift operating and safety procedures.
  • Ensures production has proper materials staged for production schedule.
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned.



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma, GED and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Stand up forklift experience is required
  • 2-3 years previous work history in a food manufacturing facility/light industrial environment preferred
  • Ability to read and write in English, and use of basic math and time keeping.
  • Computer literate in Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Able to access, enter, and retrieve datausing a computer terminal and retrieve information from production schedules.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision and make logistical decisions
