East Carolina University is an emerging national research university with an enrollment of nearly 27,000 students. The University offers 84 bachelor's degree programs, 71 master's degree programs, 18 doctoral degree programs, and 82 departmental certificates. The University is comprised of 10 academic colleges/schools including a medical and dental school. East Carolina University is located in Greenville, N.C., a progressive city of approximately 90,000. It is within two hours driving distance of the Atlantic Coast to the east and the Research Triangle area of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill to the west. The College of Health and Human Performance is home to six academic departments. There are excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaborations within the College and across the University. The College employs two full-time instructional technology consultants, and pre and post award grant specialists.

Job Duties |
INTERNAL POSTING: Open only to applicants currently employed by East Carolina University. Professorship is open only to current full-time members who are tenured and hold the rank of Professor or Associate Professor (excluding those whose primary responsibilities are in administration) in the College of Health and Human Performance.
The person in this position will engage in interdisciplinary research and teaching, as well as serve as a resource for other researchers and students across varied disciplines in health and human performance regarding issues related to improving health outcomes, facilitating better built environments, inspiring learning, promoting sustainability, and/or diminishing illness and hopelessness. As a proactive resource for the College of Health and Human Performance community and its constituents, the Professorship will be committed to engaging community leaders and citizens on critical public issues, research and experiential learning opportunities, collaborations with governmental agencies and relevant organizations, as well as sharing the products of research and analysis with academic, professional, and public audiences locally and globally.

Minimum Education/Experience |
Only current full-time Associate Professors or Professors with a tenure home in a unit within the College of Health and Human Performance at East Carolina University (excluding those whose primary responsibilities are in administration) are eligible for this professorship. The person appointed shall have a terminal degree in a field related to health, human performance, or human services. |
