Job Title: Product Manager, Industrial Equipment

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Reports to: Vice President, Digital

Department: Product Management

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a high-impact, high-visibility, growth, and profit driving leadership role within 3rd Eye and ESG. Product Management is focused on product portfolio management with the intent of maximizing market share and profitability of products over the complete life cycle of the product (from concept/ideation to retirement/pruning of mature products).

The Product Manager Industrial Equipment, with leadership oversight, sets the product strategy, creates the product roadmap, and working with cross functional teams, drives execution of the product for achieving revenue and profit targets. A Product Manager is expected to be able to plan and coordinate effectively with all business function to execute and maximize the life cycle of products.

Key activities of Product Managers may include customer value-proposition development and effective customer communication of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) benefits, sales training and materials, new product innovation pipeline oversight, brand management, promotional publications oversight, technical publications and industry regulatory compliance coordination, identification and implementation oversight of cost reduction priorities, quarterly and annual sales/margin forecasting, prototype and product demonstration support, market/competitor/vendor analysis/response, financial analysis, and basic operations project coordination.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Utilize the Innovation Process to communicate, create and manage the product strategy, roadmap, and execution of products for the 3rd Eye Industrial Equipment solutions for Safety, Contamination, Service Verification, and Asset Optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new products, features and enhancements on time and within budget achieving revenue and profit commitments.
  • Analyze markets and competitors to identify and respond to major industry trends and understand customer needs.
  • Lead product modification, cost reduction, margin analysis, advertising and promotion, forecasting, product positioning, and pricing strategies.
  • Drive the sales and operations process for assigned products to ensure proper product planning and scheduling process according to sales volume, inventory requirements and materials availability.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures needed to achieve goals.
  • Develop, mentor, and train additional staff to ensure department work performance and objectives are met.
  • Provide product support, documentation, and ensure effectivity of product materials.
  • Capture, analyze, and understand product utilization and define metrics for understanding deficiencies.
  • Improve upon product deficiencies in alignment with key performance indicators.
  • Execute major trade shows, collaborate with marketing to form appropriate marketing materials, and train for assigned products.
  • Accompany Regional Managers, dealers, and end-users to develop effective sales tools, promote products, identify opportunities/threats and gain a deep understanding of the market and unmet customer needs.
  • Participate in relevant trade/technical organizations to promote practices and specifications of benefit to Environmental Solutions Group.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with chassis and associated industrial equipment manufacturers.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 30%-60% travel is required for this position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a product manager
  • Demonstrated track record of successful product launches.
  • Industrial equipment industry experience is preferred.
  • Industrial equipment knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with agile methodology and ticket writing is a plus.
  • Must be able to lead, influence, and execute change cross functionally.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Possess strong analytical and technical abilities.
  • Strong leadership and control of work processes to execute fast, but thoughtful results.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal, external customers, and end-users of related products and services.
  • Must be able execute effectively in cross-functional teams and lead assigned projects.
  • Must be a self-starter and exercise substantial degree of judgment.
  • Must maintain high standards to continually produce high quality work with a sense of urgency.
  • Decisions must be of the highest ethical standards and align with company's strategic initiatives.

Accountability: Accepts responsibility and accessibility for both the strategic planning and the successful implementation of all projects, programs, and duties as outlined in this job description. Advises supervisor of concerns, problems and progress of work in a timely manner.
