THE JOB / Account Manager, Client Services

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon's client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT or New York, NY.***

We are looking for an Account Manager to execute the golf sponsorship platform of a Fortune 500 company. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with a passion for golf, to work alongside talent, and showcase an ability to manage multiple projects with acute attention to detail. The AM will need to have a proven background in client services and project management.

This person will work closely with the Vice President who oversees the client account within the sport sponsorship and ambassador space, along with key players on the client team and their agency & property partners.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO



  • Execute client's sponsorship portfolio, including branded and custom content coordination, media strategy & execution, brand ambassador contractual fulfillment, as well as continuous portfolio evaluation
  • Handle all logistics of brand ambassador relationships, including athlete appearances & lodging, transportation, food & beverage, production services, etc.
  • Help co-lead client's events, including branded integration, athlete appearances, guest communication, golf course logistics, and more
  • Lead all weekly status calls and other key meetings with both internal and external constituents, including continuous management of client budget
  • Serve as a trusted and reliable agency contact for client sponsorship team, player agents, internal client departments, and client's agency partners
  • Ensure contractual compliance and fulfillment of sponsorship assets, and manage the day-to-day logistics of executing various property elements
  • Ensure various agency partners are aligned and informed on timelines, as well as keep projects moving alongside target deadlines and budgets
  • Supervision of junior staff, including full-time and limited-term positions

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR



  • At least 5 years of sponsorship marketing and/or experience in managing marketing platforms
  • A standout colleague who is curious not only to grow in your job but also wants to help others and learn the different parts of the business
  • A problem solver - you recognize problems before they happen and have solutions ready to go
  • A self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running and juggle multiple projects on strict timelines
  • Proven experience shows an understanding of what it takes to make connections with clients and the flexibility and adaptability of working with various personalities
  • Sufficient understanding of the golf industry
  • Experience in managing, and forecasting against, a budget
  • Experience leading and growing junior staff
  • Eagerness to make an overall account contribution with new projects and ideas
  • Excellent communication, writing, and client service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%)


The base range for this position is $60,000 - 65,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background pertinent experience, and qualifications.
