Description

AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled butter makers and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Responsible for scheduling and maintaining an accurate and efficient inventory system.
  2. Monitor processes and procedures to meet all production goals.
  3. Interview, train, develop, schedule and monitor employees that work in the shipping department.
  4. Maintain accurate and complete records
  5. Complete cycle counts as required.
  6. Follow up on the prompt issuance and completion of work orders.
  7. Maintain a good working relationship with suppliers, patrons, employees, and customers.
  8. Be on call and come into the plant as needed, which may include any time outside of the normal shift and weekends.
  9. Obtain forklift certification and training requirements, responsible for training employees on forklifts.
  10. Continually work with the plant to reduce under-grade product, foreign material, and quality complaints.
  11. Play an active role in inspecting, reviewing, and following up on all plant and department audits.
  12. Emphasize, train, and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  13. Crosstrain with the receiving department to provide coverage as needed.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), required.
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, supply-chain management, or similar areas preferred.
  • Three years of supervisory experience required.
  • Five years of experience in dairy or food production, manufacturing, industrial process operations or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
