Join Our Dynamic Accounting Team

We are looking for a Biller-AR accountant to join our growing accounting team! This role will report to the Controller. The Accounting team is responsible for deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and provide proper oversight of all expenditures and revenue collections in order to successfully support the operations of the company. As a Biller-AR accountant you will be responsible for managing the billing cycle by producing accurate and timely monthly billing and monitoring the account aging through collection. In addition, the position maintains the general ledger, reconciles balance sheet accounts, applies payments, pursues and records collections and other general accounting functions. This position provides support to internal staff, program managers, as well as external clients and customers to facilitate accurate and timely billing and posting of accounting entries. This position does not have direct reports.

What You'll Do

Monthly-Billing - AR responsibilities



  • Creates monthly invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to customers.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely invoicing transfer/ synchronization process between software systems.


  • Assists in the financial contract management process by interacting with project managers, performing monitoring activities, creating monthly and quarterly billing invoices, budget recaps, and preparing required client reports.
  • Interacts with clients regarding specific invoice requests and payment status on unpaid invoices.
  • Applies monthly payments as needed.
  • Prepared monthly reconciliation of the assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Assists with monthly revenue tracking to ensure revenues are recorded as earned and prepares related journal entries.
  • Assists in monitoring and reviewing accounting documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Federal and state regulations and funding agency s


Monthly-Other accounting responsibilities



  • Assist on the approval process of the credit card and employee's reimbursement transactions.
  • On-going monitoring and workflow processing through the shared department email address.


Annual responsibilities:



  • Assists with preparation of annual audit workpapers.



Other duties as assigned or apparent.




    Skills & Knowledge We're Looking For



    • 2 or 4-year accounting degree and 2+ years of experience (or equivalent) in the billing and accounting field.
    • General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS word and other MS office products, along with the ability to work in other software platforms (PowerLender, Saleforce, etc...)
    • Exceptional attention to detail, writing, oral and interpersonal communications skills.
    • Ability to plan and meet individual deadlines as well as the accounting team deadlines, operating independently with changes scope of responsibility as well as support colleagues.
    • Knowledge of accounting software (Sage Intacct, preferred), and PSA software (Klient preferred).
    • Aptitude to quickly learn technical information and new software systems.
    • Collaborative demeanor to partner with the accounting team and across departments to ensure day-to-day team objectives are achieved.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.


    Preferred Qualifications



    • Sage Intacct experience preferred.
    • Experience in non-profit industry preferred



    Compensation

    Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the compensation range for this position will be $65-$67K.
