Energy Assistance Services Review Agent

Position Summary: The review agent will verify funding criteria as required by grantors for customers seeking assistance. The review agent will work with the caseworkers to ensure correct documentation is on file and applicants are served expeditiously.

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Manages shared email help desk, sending outstanding case reminders, responding to caseworker inquiries and providing support as needed
  • Addresses and resolves customer needs regarding payment
  • Oversees correct data entry, identifying areas for process improvement
  • Determines payments to be made based on understanding of funding guidelines. Ensures payments are compliant with program requirements and goals
  • Assists caseworkers with keeping up to date, accurate documentation, and notes patterns of concern
  • Participates in meetings and other program activities as requested
  • Maintains up to date, accurate files on all applications, including information on services provided and outcomes achieved
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Education/Experience:



  • Associate's degree in accounting, psychology, business, or related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 1 or more years of experience in a professional setting
  • Understanding of low-income populations (preferred)


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:



  • Learn and adhere to The Salvation Army Social Services Code of Ethics
  • Adhering to professional codes of ethics
  • Understand and adhere to professional boundaries within and outside of the organization
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and obtain appropriate releases of information
  • Demonstrate a continued effort to increase self-awareness and to better understand other cultures and issues of social justice, and promote racial understanding and reconciliation
  • Complete Caseworker Certification Program within 120 days of hire


Computer Skills:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced computer skills


Certificates and Licenses:



  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
