Position Summary:

Responsible for the sale of Ventura Foods branded portfolio of products to existing and new accounts across the channel of large regional and national convenience store retailers and distributors: Manage and grow the volume and variable margin within current and target customer account list to achieve annual sales targets and deliver on all key initiatives set by the company.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Key Account Management: Manage all day-to-day business aspects on key accounts mastering the use of key internal systems:Velocity (CRM) and Forge (pricing contract management), AS400, & PCS (Product Commercialization System)

  • Programs & Presentation Development:Utilize and facilitate internal resources including Culinary, R&D, QA, Marketing (Category, Customer, Digital), Customer Solutions, and Risk Management/Commodity team to deliver best in class customer presentations and solutions for large c-store chain accounts.

  • New Account Penetration & Discovery: Actively identify & pursue new c-store target accounts to grow Ventura foods convenience channel footprint. Utilize available resources (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, broker, sales team) to discover key contacts and secure appointments with c-store retailers and distributors.

  • Broker Management: Provide strategic direction to broker partners to maximize sales efforts in the c-store channel. develop sales tools for current/new product launches, communication of pricing, and continually support/attend training sessions and meetings to help achieve sales targets.

  • Business Planning and Development: Assist with convenience channel forecasting, budgeting, new product development, and new item launches.

  • Administrative:Complete all documentation, training, T&E paperwork related to job activities.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience calling on headquarters of large regional and/or national account convenience store chains, including foodservice
  • Required successful demonstrated ability to prospect, cold call and head hunt new business
  • Required successful demonstrated ability to create, build and present selling stories to chain accounts.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, domestically
  • CRM experience is highly desired
  • Broker management experience preferred
  • Familiar with large regional and national c-store distributors preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to understand, review and use data and insights to guide decision making and customerstrategySelf-motivated.
  • Team player with strong critical thinking, leadership, communication (both written and oral) and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with use of CRM system a plus.
  • Must be well versed in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

*The "base salary range" provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates.
