Job Responsibilities:
This is a 3-4 month contract position intended to cover immediate needs while we rebuild our team.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our team on a short-term basis. This position is ideal for someone with extensive knowledge of the PeopleSoft Purchasing Module and public procurement processes who can seamlessly integrate into our team and contribute from day one. This role offers the possibility of applying for the full-time position, which is currently under development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities using the PeopleSoft Purchasing Module, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal procurement policies.
- Oversee the end-to-end public procurement process, including solicitation, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, PO execution and vendor management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and develop effective procurement strategies.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for public procurement.
- Analyze and optimize procurement workflows to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and support to team members as needed, leveraging your expertise to solve challenges.

- Demonstrated proficiency with the PeopleSoft Purchasing Module.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with public procurement processes and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple procurement projects independently and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and contribute immediately without extensive training.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
