Description

An Enology Tech I full-time position is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates SMWE Columbia Crest Winery in Paterson. Under supervision, perform varied tasks in the production of wine. Work is primarily focused on tasks involving winemaking, computer work and paperwork. Will be trained to perform any or all the essential functions, included but not limited to, those listed below.

Enology Tech I job responsibilities include:



  • Carry out monthly production wine maintenance including physical tank top inspections, temperature verification, monthly tank and barrel sampling, partial tank maintenance.


  • Interact with cellar crew.
  • Maintain and organize wine library
  • participate in tank tasting rounds to assist with record-keeping and decision-making



Enology Tech I Position Requirements:



  • Must be 21+ of age
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in winemaking/winery preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand English and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including but not limited to:

    • lifting up to 60 pounds intermittently or 50 pounds repeatedly
    • ability to walk/stand on concrete floor for extended periods of time
    • ability to stand, squat, kneel, bend at waist, push, pull, drag, climb stairs repeatedly
    • ability to work in confined spaces


  • Able to work extended hours and meet schedule requirements
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies. Preferred but not required.


Your Compensation:

$18.79 - $24.42/ hr., based upon relevant experience.
