Technical Pre-Sales Engineer

As a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer at Minitab, you'll become a trusted expert on our products, solutions, and the industries we serve. Your role will be to strategically engage with Small and Medium Business (SMB) and mid-market prospects, helping them understand how Minitab's data-driven solutions can solve their unique challenges. Through your deep product knowledge and consultative approach, you'll drive sales success by positioning Minitab's value proposition and differentiating our solutions in a competitive market.

You'll collaborate closely with our sales teams, providing technical expertise and crafting tailored solutions for each customer. Whether through hands-on discovery sessions, impactful presentations, or product demonstrations, you'll play a pivotal role in the customer journey, contributing to software licenses, subscriptions, services, and training bookings.

What You'll Do:

  Support Sales Success: Partner with sales teams to uncover and qualify new business opportunities. Lead in-depth discovery sessions and assessments to ensure the right solutions are positioned to meet customer needs. Help close deals by executing a strategic Customer Engagement Lifecycle (CEL).

  Position Minitab as a Market Leader: Develop customer-specific value propositions, craft tailored sales strategies, and clearly communicate the unique benefits of Minitab's products and services. Drive growth by positioning Minitab solutions to resonate with customers and create new opportunities.

  Engage with Customers: Lead product demonstrations and presentations, both onsite and through web conferencing, ensuring customers understand how Minitab can improve their operations. Show them the power of our solutions with hands-on demonstrations that deliver impact.

  Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with Solution Architects and the broader Virtual Account Team to create and execute on opportunity plans that align with customer objectives. Play an active role in technical strategy sessions and provide input for successful account management.

  Represent Minitab: Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to showcase Minitab's capabilities and build relationships with key prospects. Provide feedback to marketing teams on customer insights and competitive landscape.

  Continuous Growth: Receive training and mentorship from an assigned Solution Architect, with opportunities to develop into a Senior Solutions Engineer based on your performance and impact.

  
  

What We're Looking For:

• 
  

  Experience: Ideally, you have 0-3+ years of experience using analytics or data mining software (e.g., Minitab, SPSS, JMP, SAS, Python, or R). Experience in sales engineering, pre-sales, or a similar technical support role is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of Six Sigma, Lean, and other applicable data-driven methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Minitab's suite of solutions and the industries we serve.
  • Proficient in Microsoft O365 suite, with the ability to leverage these tools for customer engagement.

  Education: A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in a similar discipline is preferred.

  Travel: This role requires travel (40-50%), including attending events and customer meetings, both in-person and virtually.

This is an onsite position at our State College, PA HQ. Remote work is not an option.
