Responsibilities

New opportunity based in Billerica MA with Bruker BioSpin for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the application of microwave-driven Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP).

    Design, develop, and test high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Develop and implement systems control and related architecture of electronic systems.
  • Manage and maintain supporting infrastructure such as chillers, power management systems, transformers, gas separators and compressors.
  • Work with gyrotron and klystron vacuum electron-beam devices and related technologies.
  • Provide timely maintenance and ensure reliable operation of local DNP facilities, gyrotron- and klystron-base systems, newer technologies in development, and a variety of supporting infrastructure, such as chillers, input power management transformers, gas separators and compressors.
  • Define and implement architectures for electronic control systems in DNP
  • Provide second-level product & customer support.
  • Ensure maintenance and reliable operation of cryogenic pneumatic systems for the low-temperature (LT) magic-angle spinning (MAS) apparatus that is used with DNP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of R&D, Service, Applications roles.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years recent work experience with direct responsibility and expertise in high-voltage vacuum electronics (including power supply, distribution, safety elements, high-voltage technologies, vacuum electron-beam devices and supporting infrastructure, such as the gyrotron and klystron microwave sources used in DNP), pneumatic and cryogenic systems.
  • Coding experience (e.g., C/C++) is considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with systems control and architecture, including general sensors and actuators.
  • A self-motivated professional with demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently within a focused team and rapidly changing work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a constructive focus on customer response and reliable service delivery.
  • Excellent oral, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills
  • English oral and written fluency with advanced MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Operates at the highest standards of business ethics, honesty, personal integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete position training requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for global travel.
