Major Tool & Machine is searching for an Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will be great at multi-tasking, detail oriented and enjoy working with all levels of employees. Our Administrative Assistant provides prompt customer service for employee issues. Ensures all regular and project work is completed on a timely basis with a minimum of errors. Presents the appropriate balance between regard for company policy and business requirements and concern for employees. Flexible schedule available with 30 hours per week minimum or up to 40 hours per week.


Duties:

  • Route incoming mail.
  • Compose and type routine correspondence.
  • Answer telephone and give information to callers, route calls to appropriate staff member, and places outgoing calls.
  • Schedule appointments as needed.
  • Greet visitors and employees upon arrival, ascertain nature of visit.
  • Make copies of correspondence or other printed matter, using copying machine.
  • Prepare outgoing mail.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities, including candidate contact, conducting placement assessments, post-offer logistics and orientation requirements for new hires as needed.
  • Establish and maintain employee database information and related filing appropriately for all new hires, status changes, performance, disciplinary and other personnel information as required.
  • Assist with benefit administration for health and welfare plans and 401k. Support benefit orientations for new employees and annual open enrollment, as needed.
  • Administer employee services for employee identification and security access, nameplates, uniform options, including maintaining proper inventory of supplies and coordination with vendors.
  • Administer company programs for employee life events, service and performance recognition.
  • Assist with company event planning and execution.
  • Assist EH&S Director with material handling certification training and testing.
  • Provide support for other HR activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • Administrative experience required.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
