Description

Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 annually

Regular, Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Manhattan, KS (onsite) - This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work environments

Supporting College: Carl R. Ice College of Engineering

Note: As we seek top talent to join our organization, this position has been advertised at two different levels (Development Officer and Senior Development Officer) with the ability to fill one position at either level.

You'll focus on major gift fundraising, cultivating and stewarding gifts of $50,000+, while collaborating with a passionate team that shares your commitment to excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Make qualification calls and visits to identify, cultivate, and steward donors
  • Solicit major gifts with confidence and recognition of donor generosity
  • Collaborate with development colleagues to create strategies for donor engagement and solicitation
  • Maintain meticulous records of donor interactions and proposals in Salesforce
  • Travel to meet with donors and manage multiple high-impact relationships effectively
Requirements

To excel as a Development Officer in this role, you'll need:

  • 5+ years of full-time, transferable experience in metrics-focused positions requiring measurable outcomes and relationship-building
  • A proven ability to call, conduct face-to-face appointments, manage relationships, and present proposals effectively
  • Exceptional communication skills, including engaged listening and the ability to inspire diverse audiences
  • Comfort presenting materials in one-on-one or group settings with poise and professionalism
  • A self-motivated and service-oriented approach, with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals
