Overview In 1954, the Blood Bank of Delmarva was established in the Delmarva region as a private, not for profit agency to collect, test, and distribute blood products. Today, the Blood Bank of Delmarva is a division of New York Blood Center and is among the nation's premium providers of blood products and services and an integral part of the Delmarva community's health care system. As of October, 2019, the Blood Bank of Delmarva employs approximately 169 full- and part-time employees. Our employees are committed to the Blood Center's mission of providing a safe and adequate blood for patients within our community. This position maintains a high knowledge of the collections process, which may include validation and compliance initiatives, in addition to managing all document control functions for collections. Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift (Every 5th Saturday rotation) Responsibilities * Supports the development, writing, and execution of validation test cases NYBCe guidelines, coordinating activity with QRA and Information Technology. Maintains skillset for activities performed by Technical Specialist II position: * Reviews donor medical screening and analyzes against standards and procedures to confirm donor eligibility for all procedure types. Post Donation Information (as applicable) * Follows up on post-donation information as received from the donor. Other Secondary Functions * Maintain all collections competency if promoted from Collections Operations. Qualifications Required Minimum Education & Experience Education: Related Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the requirements above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the job's essential functions. Preferred Qualifications Experience: Health care setting. Quality auditing experience preferred.
