Rise Up is currently a program of PHI that plans to shift operating processes to a separate 501(c)(3) organization in 2025. This position will play a key role in leading the accounting team and managing accounting related activities of Rise Up, both before and after the transition to the new 501(c)(3) organization. Position Summary The Senior Manager, Accounting Operations will build and manage effective internal accounting systems and processes and oversee accounting activities for the new organization. Responsible for internal control, general ledger account setup and maintenance, general accounting and financial analysis, reconciliations, annual audits, and overall financial reporting. The incumbent will ensure compliance with GAAP standards, a high level of integrity, timeliness of financial reporting, and internal controls. Perform and ensure timely month and year-end closing processes. Ensure the organization complies with all tax reporting, preparation of grant budgets and invoices, preparation of payroll, accounts payable disbursements, procurement, and preparation of all worksheets for annual audit and other reporting needs of the organization. The Senior Manager will implement improved accounting policies and procedures to ensure that generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other accounting requirements from authoritative accounting bodies are followed. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting and financial management record at a nonprofit organization. This position will report to the Director of Operations. This is a remote, regular full-time position based in the United States. Candidates in the U.S. are welcome to apply and will be considered, but candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area are preferred. The incumbent is expected to travel about 10% of the time domestically and internationally to team retreats and workshops. Full salary range for this position: $100,661 to $151,630 per year. The typical hiring range for this position is from $100,661 (minimum) to $126,146 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.
