Overview We are seeking an innovative and experienced Sr. Manufacturing Applications Engineer in our Flexible Drive System (FDS) area to develop creative solutions to meet the challenging requirements of flexible drive systems for critical aerospace applications. Looking for a skilled engineer to develop creative solutions to meet the challenging requirements of flexible drive systems for critical aerospace applications. FDS Engineers work as part of small yet nimble team responsible for the design, analysis and validation testing of flexible driveshafts and associated driveline components for rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft. Candidate will be required to support numerous activities throughout the entire lifecycle of the product line. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in Creation of complex flexible driveshaft designs and detailed engineering drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
Qualifications Education: BS degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Metallurgy or related field is required MS degree is a plus Experience: 0 to 5 years of mechanical design experience is desired. Design experience in a field related to power transmission or rotordynamics is a plus. A solid knowledge of stress analysis principles is required with prior FEA analysis experience preferred. Knowledge Essential to the Position Advanced 3-D Solid / Assembly Modeling Advanced Test Procedures and Methods Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles Use of Micrometers and Vernier calipers Advanced Knowledge of Computer Aided Design Software (NX Preferred) Physical Requirements Occasional (15-40%) lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs. Frequent mental and visual attention Other: Ability to work flexible work schedule. Travel (10%) #KAM |
