Role Overview
The Capital Markets Associate will assist in the execution of financing deals, including tax equity partnerships, for renewable energy projects. This role is responsible for preparing financial models and conducting valuation analysis for tax equity funding under the supervision of more senior team members. The Capital Markets Associate will support transaction processes, including due diligence and document review, while developing an understanding of the distributed generation solar and storage sectors. Additionally, the Capital Markets Associate will support internal teams, including M&A, Business Development, and other internal and external parties. This position offers exposure to the full tax equity financing process and provides opportunities to learn from more senior and experienced team members.
Main Accountabilities:
- Support the Capital Markets team, providing assistance with team needs and goals
- Analyze and understand tax equity, debt, and other financing transactions for distributed generation scale solar projects
- Prepare financial models and conduct valuation analysis for tax equity financings of renewable energy projects, presenting results for review by senior team members
- Support transactions by participating in due diligence, document review, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop knowledge of the fundamentals of distributed generation solar and storage projects, including the value chain and associated technologies
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across various teams to ensure successful project execution
- Support the preparation and review of transaction-related documents and assist with legal and financial due diligence during the execution phase
- Develop an understanding of regulatory environments and financial incentives that impact the profitability and viability of distributed generation projects
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel and key systems used for financial analysis and modeling
- Manage time efficiently by prioritizing key deliverables and responding to deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on project status

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, economics, or related field;
- 1-3 years of experience in finance or renewable energy, with a focus on financial modeling and analysis required
- Minimum 1+ years of Distributed Generation (DG)/Solar experience required
- Basic understanding of renewable energy finance structures, particularly within the solar industry
- Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and modeling, with strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with tax equity financing rules and renewable energy incentives is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to learn new concepts in renewable energy financing and participate in the transaction execution process
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, and financial analysis tools.

Salary hiring range: $90,000 - $110,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of many compensation, benefits, and other reward opportunities we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect most of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
