Job Description - Student Intern, IT Operations
Tucson Electric Power, one of Arizona's leading utility companies, seeks an individual for the position of IT Operations Student Intern in the Information Services department. We are looking for an energetic addition to our team to assist IT Network and Systems Administrators and Engineers with existing design, develop and support information systems to support business processes across multiple departments and business units. This person should have a strong interest in the area of Information Technology.
This position is a year round internship at our offices in Tucson, Arizona. Candidates must be full time college students.
Position-Related Responsibilities:
Assists IS personnel with day-to-day hardware and software technical and administrative support for IT infrastructure operations.
Assists with clients in the use of information technology infrastructure and customer application systems.
Assist with reviewing work requests from clients and assist with estimates for work to be performed based on industry standard estimation methodology.
Participate in a team environment and assists with assignments as requested by the group or team lead.
A Qualified candidate will:
Be pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or later.
Be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week during regular business hours; up to 40 hours a week may be available during the summer and school breaks
Have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to protect highly sensitive and confidential information; Must be able to meet regular deadlines
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
Possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Requirements:
Must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week during regular business hours; and up to 40 hours a week during the summer and school breaks
Student Interns must maintain the required hours for full-time student status, good academic standing at their college or university, as defined by the college or university and the GPA required for graduation by their college or university.
Failure to maintain full-time status, good academic standing and/or the requisite GPA will result in Student Interns being deemed ineligible for participation in this program.
Student Interns are employed on a temporary basis and are generally not eligible for some benefits; including holiday pay.
Scheduling of work hours and assignments should be made taking into consideration that Student Interns are students first and employees second.

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour + Depending on year in school
