About this Position:

This position coordinates total maintenance operations consisting of managing Equipment Service Technicians, Equipment Service Staff/Team Leaders. Responsible for managing, developing, and improving preventative maintenance reliability programs.This position is responsible for leading and managing a team of Equipment Service Technicians, focusing on the maintenance and reliability of CNC, robot, and automation systems. The role involves overseeing the development and execution of preventative maintenance strategies, troubleshooting automation systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading multi-shift teams, with a strong foundation in CNC and robot automation repair, as well as a background in managing maintenance programs in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include:



  • Analyze / evaluate equipment failures/inefficiencies and develop, implement, and measure effectiveness of countermeasures
  • Ascertain hidden equipment failures and develop path-forward countermeasures
  • Identify preventative and predictive equipment needs
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Analyze equipment operations to minimize potential contribution to failure
  • Analyze computerized maintenance management system (CMMS-Maximo) for the following:

    • Equipment failure frequencies
    • Repair/Replenish
    • Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)/Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
    • Perform equipment repair vs replace decision analysis
    • Perform critical equipment analysis (PPA)


  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Equipment Service Technicians specializing in CNC and automation equipment.
  • Coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance for CNC, robotics, and automation systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and develop corrective actions to improve reliability.
  • Analyze CMMS data (Maximo) to identify trends, maintenance needs, and equipment performance metrics (MTTR/MTBF).
  • Ensure that equipment failures and inefficiencies are minimized through continuous process improvement.
  • Oversee the repair vs. replace decision-making process for critical equipment.
  • Manage shift operations for a team of 6-9 technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met.



Who we are seeking:



  • Required Work Experience:

    • A minimum of 2-8 years manufacturing experience


  • Required Education:

    • Applicable two-year degree (Electrical-Mechanical Degree); or equivalent relevant experience




Desired skills:



  • PLC troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of automation and manufacturing equipment
  • Basic understanding of chain conveyor systems


Additional Position Factors:



  • Exposure to oils, solvents, fumes, confined space, grease, dirt
  • Possible Travel - two times per year/one week per event and some daily travel to other plants
  • Overtime estimated at 40-80 hours monthly
