Cognizant is looking to hire a motivated and energetic Lead Software Engineer, an individual with experience with microservices architecture & designing payment solutions Proficiency in Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate

Job Location: Miami, Florida

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of microservices-based applications using Java Fullstack and Java 11.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers ensuring best practices are followed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the team is using the most effective tools and techniques.
• Work closely with product managers to understand the business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
• Ensure that all deliverables meet the required standards and are delivered on time.

Key Qualifications:

• Possess strong experience in Microservices Java Full stack and Java 11.
• Demonstrate proficiency in designing and developing scalable and robust applications.
• Have a good understanding of Customer Premises Equipment which is a plus.
• Show excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Display the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
• Have a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Show a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Possess a strong understanding of software development methodologies particularly Agile.
• Have experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Show proficiency in writing unit and integration tests.
• Exhibit a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
