Academic Internship Specialist (Industry Employment-(HEOa)) CUNY Inclusive Economy (CIE) Initiative, Department of Film and Media Studies Job IDL: 29346 Location: Hunter College Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular POSITION DETAILS The Office of Careers & Industry Partnerships (OCIP) at the City University of New York seeks Industry and Employer Engagement Specialists to identify career opportunities and grow hiring pipelines for CUNY students and graduates. Specialists will engage with employers in defining workforce needs, identifying hiring challenges and opportunities, specifying skills and proficiencies needed to fill available roles, and exploring partnerships to help grow New York’s emerging industries. Reporting to the Chair, this Industry Specialist will support a 200-student cohort studying media analysis, media production, emerging media and journalism in the Department of Film and Media Studies at HunterCollege (CUNY). They will collaborate with department staff, faculty and a dedicated academic/career advisor. They will responsible for networking and developing internship and career opportunities for students in the fields of communications and marketing, social media management, digital content production and multimedia journalism. They will work under the supervision of the Department Chair of Film and Media Studies at Hunter, and will collaborate with department staff, faculty and a dedicated Academic/Career advisor. Job responsibilities will include: Establish a Peer Network: Create Pathways: Communicate and Improve: QUALIFICATIONS The minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s degree and four years of professional work experience. Ideally, candidates will have one or more of the following: CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Supports an academic internship program providing career development and professional work experience. CUNY TITLE Higher Education Assistant FLSA Exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary commensurate with education and experience, within approved range $93,134 - $99,532.
