Manager, Forensic Technology - Digital Forensics

Job Summary:

The Manager will be responsible for assisting with the development of the Data Solutions service line. The Data Solutions team's core responsibilities are to provide outstanding responsiveness, consultative advice, management of complex data transformation engagements, and drive the highest levels of client satisfaction. The right individual for this role will be able to appropriately manage engagements, collaborate with a team of high performing professionals, cultivate teamwork across the Forensic Technology practice, create, maintain, optimize, and execute defensible and efficient workflows, processes, and BDO procedures that will ensure repeatability across clients and projects. The ideal candidate should also have a background with development of scripts and applications using languages such as Python and C#.

Job Duties:

Leadership



  • Stays on top of industry and technology trends, new tools, and overall knowledge of the discovery technology marketplace in the service of our clients and the data transformation team
  • Identifies project opportunities through relationships with the wider Advisory practice within BDO


People Management



  • Engages, supervises, and manages teams effectively, within the standards of our Core Values
  • Appropriately allocates time to projects ensuring positive load balancing from a utilization perspective while meeting the project requirements
  • Ensures team members are communicating internally and externally in a timely fashion and consistent with any group/client service level agreements


Client Management



  • Manages multiple workstreams across the assigned portfolio of clients, including both upstream escalation paths and downstream day-to-day management
  • Responds directly to client requests and provides consultation within the framework of our practice service model
  • Develops, actively communicates, and manages project plans for clients including consultation on processes and tools to meet project goals
  • Develops and executes e-discovery protocols and regulatory processing and production requirements
  • Consults with clients on the capabilities of the broader forensic technology practice
  • Translates highly technical information to non-technical clients


Technology



  • Uses and leverages a broad range of outputs from varied commercial and custom tools
  • Innovates repeatable solutions and workflows that solves client data challenges by developing custom applications, scripts, and workflows
  • Analyzes and provides meaningful insights, interpretations, and guidance by leveraging data intelligence and data mining solutions (e.g., SmartSheet, Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Advanced E-Discovery, Trend Analyses) to educate and consult with clients regarding analysis findings


Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Assists in supervising staff and managing projects
  • Acts as a Career Advisor to Associates and Senior Associates



Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:



  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • MBA or other advanced degree, preferred


Experience:



  • Five (5) or more years of technology and data transformation experience, required
  • Prior experience with scripting and application development using Python and C#, required
  • Prior experience with databases such as MS SQL and the ability to create advanced scripts for querying and manipulating data, required
  • Experience in project management for complex investigative matters involving varied data sources and jurisdictions, preferred


License/Certifications:



  • N/A


Software:



  • Proficiency in common discovery industry tools, required
  • Proficiency in common application development tools, required
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, preferred


Language:



  • Proficiency (speak/read/write) in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, German, or Hindi, preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details and quality

  • Ability to provide an encouraging team atmosphere on engagements and contribute to the professional development of the team

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $100,000 - $150,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $100,000 - $150,000
Maryland Range: $100,000 - $150,000
