Salary range:
Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation depending on specialty can range from $364,895 - $770,253. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. These openings will be at the level of Assistant, Associate and Clinical Professor or above (non-tenure), depending upon the candidate's qualifications, and will be in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Surgical Divisions include the following: Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Colon and Rectal Surgery, Emergency General Surgery (EGS), Gastrointestinal Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Transplantation Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Vascular Surgery Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series Criteria: Faculty are expected to excel in teaching, mentoring, service, professional competence, and scholarly contributions. For Associate Professor or Professor ranks, a record demonstrating contributions to scholarly, creative, or administrative activities is required. These contributions, particularly in clinical teaching and service, will be assessed within the context of academic responsibilities and time available for scholarly work. M.D., M.D./Ph.D., board certification or eligibility in the specialty, with a California medical license and DEA required on the first day of employment. Academic rank and salary will reflect the candidate's training, qualifications, and experience.
