Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Weapons Engineer to support Army Aviation. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:



  • Provide engineering support for Army aircraft-based weapons and weapons.
  • Review and produce reports on technical drawings, design documentation, test procedures, test plans, test results, airworthiness qualification specifications, airworthiness releases, and safety assessment reports.
  • Witness system tests.
  • Attend technical exchange meetings, requirement reviews, test readiness reviews, and design reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Required Experience:



  • Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Physics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a technical field.
  • Experience working in an aviation-related field.
  • Other requirements.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Apache, Blackhawk, Chinook, FLRAA, fixed-wing aircraft, and/or UAS.
  • Experience with developing and assessing the airworthiness of Army aircraft.
  • Experience with ballistic testing and analysis.
  • Experience with the design, testing, and analysis of armor panels.
  • Familiar with DoD, Army and/or FAA airworthiness requirements standards.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
