Sr Project Controller

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Sr Project Controller: Pay commensurate with experience.

Position can be located in Tulsa, OK or Vienna, VA

Sr Project Controller Responsibilities Include:



  • Manages and implements project controls including processes, procedures, and tools to ensure a project stays within budget and on-time.
  • Develops, tracks, and maintains company standards for project cost control measures for government projects during the execution phase.
  • Supports execution against project master schedule.
  • Evaluates and monitors labor and material costs comparing to budgets and forecast and performs variance analysis and reporting.
  • Develops and manages the program forecast.
  • Evaluates the program pricing details to support risk and opportunity identification and ensures EAC alignment during execution.
  • Provides project performance analysis for recompete/capability pricing strategy.
  • Quantifies program risk and provides advisory support to leadership team.
  • Analyzes subcontractor and vendor costs and purchase order commitments to EAC.
  • Ensures accurate EACs and ETCs are prepared to properly record revenue and profit.
  • Ensures charges on projects comport with contract language and FAR guidelines.
  • Assists in the project setup and close-out work processes to ensure adherence to company standards and contractual requirements.
  • Provides financial framework and consistent approaches to support project execution.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Sr Project Controller Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or other related field.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of experience managing project controls, scheduling, estimating or project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other business-related programs such as scheduling software, Costpoint ERP system, and other financial tools.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other regulatory requirements attributable to government contracts.
  • Advanced knowledge of the various aspects of project controls, accounting, estimating, planning/scheduling, progress measurement and forecasting/reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to identify issues and recommend workable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes.
  • Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of complex federal construction projects and methodology.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups and build internal/external relationships.
  • Ability to properly manage, coordinate and prioritize resources, people, work activities and projects.
  • Government contracting required, EAC - est. at completion, risk and opportunity analysis.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate complex ideas, processes, and deliverables to senior leadership.
  • Ability to train employees and peers on core project control requirements.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
