Job Summary:
The Onsite Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users at our office location. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up and maintaining computer systems, and ensuring optimal performance of all desktop environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite technical support for desktop and laptop computers, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
- Respond to and resolve support tickets in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
- Assist with network connectivity issues and collaborate with the IT team to resolve complex problems.
- Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and backups.
- Educate users on best practices for computer usage and security.
- Document all support activities and maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
- Assist with the setup and support of audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in desktop support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Familiarity with network protocols and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Customer-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality support.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar.
- Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
