This position is responsible for activities that support Optum CA Clinical Services with regulatory and delegation contractual requirements as outlined in the Clinical Services Delegation Oversight framework.

You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate our company's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each internal and external customer
  • Support Operations Manager with projects and strategic planning
  • Maintain and manage new and updated documents applicable to Optum Ca operations
  • Communicate to all parties as documents are updated
  • Develop, implement, and perform ongoing administration of Optum Ca specific documents
  • Ability to maintain a document repository within a database
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with Operations teams if needed
  • Ensure that routine reports are updated and distributed as necessary
  • Understand the archive periods for all types of documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines and work standards
  • Uses, protects, and discloses our patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • General administrative / secretarial support to the team
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry
  • 1+ years of compliance or quality improvement experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of office experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in an HMO or experience in a Managed Care setting
  • A base knowledge of requirements for Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Commercial lines of business


Soft Skills:



  • Proven experience with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer service oriented

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
