The Clinical Administrative Coordinator is responsible for scheduling diagnostic tests and appointments for the radiology department, consistent with patient needs and requests. Accurately schedules and pre-registers patients into different computer programs for procedures and exams. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Participation in Compliance and other important training is a condition of employment.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 5150 Journal Center Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be 8am-5pm.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Accurately schedules and coordinates patient appointments for exams and procedures
  • Gathers insurance information and pre-registers patients into the necessary systems and provides patients with direction on applicable pre and post-operative preps
  • Obtains verification of benefits and coordinates pre-authorization with Clinic
  • Coordinate with external groups/physicians/hospitals to set up and confirm scheduling for procedures
  • Accurately uses procedure codes to ensure proper billing
  • Communicates verbal and written orders in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Handles telephone calls in an efficient manner to meet corporate guidelines for waits and delays as well as meeting abandonment ratio criteria
  • Ensures accurate placement of patients on the various schedules at all facilities to enable timely delivery of service to the patient
  • Performs reminder calls and checks eligibility daily as needed
  • Provides clerical support for assigned areas to include scanning, filing, data entry
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 6+ months of experience with scheduling in healthcare, medical office
  • Experience with computer including windows-based programs and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work onsite at 5150 Journal Center BLVD NE, Albuquerque NM
  • Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of related experience
  • Registration and insurance knowledge
  • Experience working in Radiology department



Soft Skills:



  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
