Responsibilities
- Reviews payroll edits and makes online corrections as necessary.
- Ensures compliance with company policy as well as wage and hour laws.
- Answers calls from the employee hotline.
- Prepares ad-hoc manual checks.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records.
- Addresses payroll-related issues using sound analytical, reasoning and judgment skills.
- Reports recurrent payroll discrepancies to the manager for root cause analysis and resolution.
- Participates in external payroll-related audits and requests for information.
- Conducts audits, analyzes results, investigates problems and resolves discrepancies as appropriate.
- Prepares, analyzes, and distributes periodic payroll reports using established policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two years' experience processing high-volume payroll.
- Computer literate and highly proficient in using MS office programs (Excel and Outlook).
Preferred
- Experience processing multi-frequency and multi-state payrolls.
- CPP (certified payroll professional) or FPC (fundamental payroll certification).
- PeopleSoft application experience, version 9.1 or higher.
