JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State'sSustainabilityInstitute is looking to hire a Penn State studentinternwho will work for at least the remainder of the academic years of 2024-'25 and '25 to '26. This student will assist Penn StateSustainability's efforts to support the integration ofsustainabilityacross Penn State's curriculum, support best practices for informal and formal community climate change andsustainabilityengagement andeducation, and setting up workshops forsustainabilityeducationand climate planning. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate knowledge ofsustainabilityeducation, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, environmental justice, community engagement, and informal communityeducation. Candidates should have a record of accomplishment onsustainability. Duties may include, but are not limited to: supporting the development ofsustainabilitycourses in partnership with university partners, reporting on results ofsustainabilityeducationto student, faculty, staff, and administrative stakeholders including University leadership and government agencies, supporting workshops forsustainabilityeducation, visiting undergraduate classes to communicate aboutsustainabilityand to recruit forsustainabilityeducationinitiatives, assisting in the logistics of external-facing programming for climate action planning. This paidinternship will be for up to 20 hours per week throughout the school year with the possibility for more hours during the summer. Our offices are in the Land and Water Research Building near the outdoor track.
