Quality Assurance Technician

Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications before they reach the market. This role involves conducting quality inspections, performing tests, documenting results, and assisting in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality. In addition, the quality technician will help coordinate and contribute to the ISO 9001 Management System. The Quality Technician will work closely with the production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to monitor and maintain high standards of quality across manufacturing processes.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Quality Control Systems Compliance: Ensure adherence to company quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, NSF, etc.).
  • Conduct Quality Inspections: Perform regular inspections on products and components during various stages of the manufacturing process, including receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Calibration of Equipment: Assist in the calibration and maintenance of testing and measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis: Work with engineers and managers to identify the root causes of quality issues and assist in the development of corrective actions.
  • Product Sampling and Process Audits: Perform random sampling and audits of processes to ensure continuous compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) aimed at improving product quality and production efficiency.
  • Support Quality Assurance: Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties assigned, including, but not limited to, assisting in other departments.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate's degree in quality assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years experience in manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with quality testing tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc).
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 (required)
  • ISO14000, and ISO45001 standards (preferred but not required).
  • Internal Auditor experience is a plus (will become a requirement as part of the job).
  • Strong team player with the ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Experience in calibration of test equipment, product testing, and/or functional testing is a plus.
  • Exceptional written, active, and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work in the US.
  • Certification in Quality Control (e.g., ASQ CQIA or CQT) or similar quality certification (preferred).
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
