Minimal Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) as recognized by the State of Missouri;

* Prior experience in law enforcement.

* You must attach a completed copy of the Certification & Application Addendum in order to receive any consideration. (see special instructions)


Preferred qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals who possess:
* Directly-related experience in CCURE (electronic access control, intrusion alarm systems and closed circuit TV systems)

* Knowledge of police operational procedures and methods such as; non-crime calls for service, traffic control, arrest procedures, preliminary investigations, and community service.

* Experience working in an educational institution.

* Experience with Microsoft Office products.

* Six (6) or more years' experience serving as a police officer.

* Experience serving as a field training officer.

* Evidence of specialized training, firearms, crime scene, self-defense, etc.

Work Hours
Assignment will include work at any MCC campus for various shifts to include morning, evening, overnight and /or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.


Compensation
The hiring range is $52,419-55,564 Competitive benefit package is included.

Typical Essential Duties
* Patrols the campus by foot or vehicle and conducts security checks; monitors security cameras; locks and unlocks facilities; and provides security services during events, to identify suspicious activity and ensure student, staff, faculty, and visitor safety.
* Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance; work may involve transmitting and receiving information, performing first aid, contacting medical personnel, providing advisement, resolving conflicts, arresting individuals, and enforcing applicable laws.
* Identifies safety and student conduct violations; conducts investigations; and enforces City, State, and Federal laws, and campus policies and procedures.
* Enforces traffic and parking ordinances, to include identifying safety/traffic hazards, directing traffic, issuing traffic citations, assisting motorists, escorting vehicles, and identifying unattended vehicles.
* Coordinates with staff, faculty, and community groups, and other internal/external personnel, departments, and/or agencies to maintain effective working relations and facilitate College and the Police Department's operations.
* May conduct training sessions for probationary campus police officers and public safety officers.
* Performs administrative duties to include maintaining records, logs, and documentation of activities and incidents; assigning parking passes; providing general and specific information; and inspecting equipment for proper functioning.
* Participates in campus training for students, faculty and staff. Conduct investigations in traffic accidents, criminal violations of law, and local ordinances, by gathering evidence, interviewing victims and witnesses, interrogating suspects, and prepare appropriate reports for submission to local prosecutor for prosecution of cases.
* Conducts investigations into violations of MCC policies and procedures. Incumbent responsible for evidence collection to ensure successful prosecutions. Attends and provides evidence in court; evidence storage and inventory.
* Produces internal reports and provide feedback on case status.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Positions Supervised

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, hearing, fingering, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Ability to operate a Campus Police motor vehicle (police patrols)

Light lifting (5 to 20 pounds) daily. Heavy lifting moving police equipment (20 - 50 pounds)
Very heavy lifting to perform arrest or for rescues (over 50 pounds). Physical agility to respond to a scene quickly. Ability to qualify with department firearms

Incumbents may be exposed to extreme temperatures; inadequate lighting; intense noise; and other environmental conditions, such as, challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environments.


Licensing Requirements

*Missouri POST Class A license.

*United States Citizenship;

*Possession of a valid driver's license.
