Responsibilities

The Department Secretary & EKG Technician will serve as a critical support link within the Radiology Department, encompassing dual responsibilities of administrative support and technical execution of electrocardiograms (EKG/ECG). This hybrid position requires an organized and detail-oriented professional capable of balancing clerical duties with patient care responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Manage daily administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining department records.
  • Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere.
  • Document Handling: Prepare, file, and retrieve documents, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • Coordination: Assist the radiology team with coordinating meetings and facilitating internal communications.
  • Conduct EKG Tests: Perform EKG/ECG tests (Electrocardiography or Cardiac Monitoring), prepare patients, and ensure accurate electrode placement.
  • Patient Interaction: Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Graduate or equivalent required.

2. Three to five years secretarial experience preferred.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

4. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

5. Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certification upon hire and maintain current

6. Successful EKG course certificate of completion preferred

7. Experience in assisting physician with Stress Testing preferred
