Logistics Specialist

Position Overview:

This individual is responsible for the timely movement of products into and out of Knapheide Mfg. Co., its distributors, truck pool and fleet customers. The position is responsible for supporting the daily operational needs of the Logistics Department. This is a fast past paced continuously changing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily outbound truckload and less-than-truckload coordination of Knapheide manufactured product to all distributors
• Monitor all arrival and delivery by carriers throughout the shipment process, and maintain the information in the shipping and transportation management systems
• Provide accurate freight rate quotes, shipment scheduling, shipment tracking and resolution to the distributor services team and others upon request
• Maintain and monitor logistics ticket system
• Plan and/or monitor all shipping needs from order shipment through delivery for inbound shipments to all Knapheide facilities from suppliers on company TMS
• Auditing and processing of all freight bills for payment will be a priority
• Maintain departmental reports
• Recommend most efficient means of transportation needs and procedures
• Perform on going evaluation and review of transportation arrangements for improvement opportunities for cost and service
• Assist with freight claim resolution
• Plan the return of products from customers
• The position will be cross-trained with transportation coordinator responsibilities
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• 4 year Bachelor Degree in business or related field (preferred)
• Transportation/logistics experience (preferred)
• Good organization skills with a commitment to detail.
• Excellent communication skills are imperative along will high character and a great attitude.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• This job will require the normal standing, bending, walking and lifting in an office environment.
