Overview

Manages and develops programs and services for specialty area. Coordinates and supervises the care of these patients in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Provides direct patient care and serves as a clinical expert for the education and consultation needs of the healthcare team. Acts as a liaison between patients, families, and others in the health care team to ensure patients' needs are met. Facilitates clinical care to improve the quality of the outcome for the patient while considering the individual needs of the patient. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to guide clinical decisions. Implements evidence-based nursing interventions that promote positive outcomes. Partners with internal and external providers/clinics and healthcare agencies to develop strategies to establish and maintain effective relationships to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

    Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
  • Management and development of program and services.
  • Meets the educational needs of patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching/learning.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for the education and consultation needs of the health care team.
  • Participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
    • and 3-5 years pediatric nursing experience
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $36.75/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.



Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
