JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Human Research Technologist. The Human Research Technologist (hereafter, Program Coordinator) will work for the Penn State PRO Wellness program performing community-based research and programming focused on childhood wellness. This position is responsible for supporting the development, execution, and management of both externally and internally funded research projects and programs within the Penn State PRO Wellness (pennstatehershey.org/prowellness) portfolio. Programing and research take place in school and community settings. Responsibilities include executing activities in support of a funded a research study or program and providing technical support to program participants/partners (i.e., study visits, action planning, program implementation). Specific activities may include recruitment of partners/participants and serving as a point of contact for partners/participants throughout the course of each funded program, developing and designing educational and resource materials for various research projects and programs, and coordinating meetings and program logistics with schools and community organizations. Responsibilities also include assisting with program evaluation and project reporting, including data management and analysis under the direction of the project manager. The position requires supporting regulatory activities, including drafting, reviewing, and submitting Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents and modifications, as required for each research project or program. The position may also serve as a liaison to internal departments and external entities and may include supporting the preparation of grants and scientific papers for publication. The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing, demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills, and participate in, and support, team decisions and team responsibilities. Professional image and conduct are required. This position includes travel to school and community settings and occasional overnight stays, and may require that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, withpossibility of refunding. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks.
