Program-Level Software Systems Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Program-Level Software Systems Engineer to support the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Air and Missile Defense Mission Command Product Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Support a government program office addressing Army Air and Missile Defense systems with a focus on Mission Command systems.
• Collaborate with contractors, government civilians, and system operators.
• Develop system-level features that describe MEI and CSCI behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria to guide software implementation.
• Lead reviews and adjudicates comments against features, using an MBSE approach to document features in an Agile workflow.
• Ensure software meets user needs by engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of system engineering experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirements decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work effectively in a small team.
• Proficiency in working in an Agile environment and engaging stakeholders to meet user requirements.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• System engineering experience in support of DoD programs, especially in Army Air and Missile Defense programs.
• Hands-on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF.
• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
