POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

The Defense Language and National Security Education Office (DLNSEO) requires programmatic and analytical support services to administer programs, assist with meeting program goals, and provide support and counseling to program grantees, particularly those that have received award funding and those who have not completed their Congressionally mandated service requirement for the National Security Education Program (NSEP).

Position Overview:

The General Clerk III shall identify award recipients who have not begun fulfilling their Congressionally mandated Service Requirement. General Clerk III shall provide program management and administrative support, to include work in program outreach, recruitment, data analysis, coordination, and career counseling for the NSEP awardees. General Clerk III must be proficient in using NSEPnet, NSEP's web-based case management and recruiting system developed to track NSEP award recipients, and the Student Certification System developed to track Language Flagship and ROTC Project GO participants. General Clerk III must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with NSEP award recipients, grantees, and alumni. These interactions will be conducted through multiple venues, to include in-person, over the phone, webinars and through email.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide job search training and counseling.
  • Support alumni relations.
  • Support external relations.
  • Support language proficiency assessment.
  • Support program recruitment and training efforts.
  • Contact award recipients and analyze awardee data.
  • Analyze and manage data (NSEP award recipient electronic files).
  • Submit Monthly Status Report (MSR).
  • Participate in a Post-award conference (Travel).


Payrate: $24.43 per hour

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Area/Language Studies, Business, International Affairs, Social Sciences or Graphic Design.
  • NSEP Awardee (Boren Scholarships and Fellowships)
  • First-hand real-world experience in various global regions and cross-cultural environments.
  • Critical thinking/analytical skills.
  • Experience or familiarity with international education, regional or cultural studies, and foreign language education.
  • Excellent written, listening, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to set own priorities and work independently without immediate supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Applicant must obtain/maintain eligibility for a National Agency Check with Inquiries.
