Description The Electronic Warfare (EW) Division is a 430-employee research and development organization in the Leidos Innovations Center (LInC). The EW Division is at the forefront of researching, designing, and developing EW systems, directed energy systems, high speed/hypersonic weapon systems, communications/networking systems, and related technologies for our nation's defense. The EW Division has an opening for a Lead Software Engineer for the Real-Time Software Branch which focuses on research & development and advanced prototyping, transforming state of the art signal processing algorithms into real-time software systems. This role combines team lead and hands-on software engineering responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: * Software Engineer (approximately 70% of the time): Design, implement, test, and integrate real-time software for novel and complex prototype signal processing systems. Work is executed within multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, with backgrounds in software, signal processing, firmware, hardware, systems engineering, and integration. * Team Lead (approximately 30% of the time): Supervise and lead a team of approximately four software engineers supporting multiple projects as part of a larger software engineering branch. This includes interfacing with program managers, retention, recruiting, mentoring, and managing coverage of their direct reports.
