YOU'LL GET TO:
  • Investigate sites and collect data
  • Design stream restorations
  • Design dam projects and perform safety inspections
  • Analyze sediment transport
  • Investigate water resources
  • Perform hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) and flood modelling
  • Design stormwater management
  • Apply resilience principals
  • Process wetland and waterway permits
  • Assess and restore watersheds
  • Prepare and manage grant applications
  • Mentor junior staff and network with clients

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related degree.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Engineers preferred. Will also considered allied professional (Environmental Science, Biology, Geomorphology, Hydrology, Landscape Architecture, Ecology, equivalent work experience, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WANT:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience
  • Project management skills in water resource design from concept through construction including preparing proposals, invoicing, project milestones, and achieving deadlines
  • Competence in client relationship and meeting facilitation
  • Team leading directing and mentoring junior staff
  • Stream and wetland restoration, dam design and the permitting and approval process
  • Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR), Letter of Map Revision (LOMR)
  • Experience in preparing and processing designs and permits using PennDOT and/ or Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) standards
  • Proficiency in use of software for hydrology, hydraulics (HEC-RAS 1D & 2D, HydroCad), SWMM, drafting (Civil 3D, Carlson, MicroStation)
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.). Will also considered certified allied professional with stormwater and/or stream design experience.
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel and work as needed to meet schedule
