Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Analyst within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

Working under the direction of the QA Manager, the QA Assistant is responsible for performing critical documentation review, maintenance, revision, update. QA Assistant provides assistance in-house quality control assays as needed, in staff training, participates in execution of the processing steps of the GMP/PD Facility and proper documentation of manufacturing activities and reagent supplies receipt, registration and testing. The QA Assistant is expected to assist in manufacturing of the products generated by GMP Facility as required.

Among the key duties for this position are the following:

  • Participates in revision, implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP) according to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and FDA approved guidelines for the GMP Facility of CINJ.
  • Participates in maintaining the GMP Facility by ordering, receiving, registration, labeling and testing of reagent and supplies.
  • Under supervision conducts testing of newly developed bioassays and equipment as requested.
  • Supports all functional Quality Assurance activities related to the development, implementation and maintenance of Quality systems such as Document Control, Change Control, Deviations, and CAPAs etc.
  • As needed assists with regular environmental monitoring as per the current SOPs.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers's compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus a minimum of two years' experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective oral and communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred with one year of experience in cell or gene therapy research or GMP manufacturing.
  • Experience with cell culturing or genetic modification of the cells preferred.

Equipment Utilized
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Must meet minimum vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Laboratory environment. Moderate noise.
  • Exposure to blood, excrement, antineoplastic drugs, and possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases.
  • Universal precautions are mandatory.
  • Proper gowning required in the GMP Facility.
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
